Our sustainability journey
For several years, we have been striving to become a more sustainable organization. Our goal? To be Net Zero by 2025. And we are well on our way! Together with all our colleagues worldwide, we contribute to this effort.
Footprint Reduced, Impact Increased
Thanks to the efforts of all Plymovent employees, we have already reduced Plymovent's CO2 emissions by more than 33%, while our company has experienced spectacular growth. This is proof that our sustainability initiatives are bearing fruit.
More Sustainable Products
Our R&D department takes sustainability into account when designing new products, for example, by choosing materials wisely. In Production and Assembly, initiatives have been launched to reduce plastic in packaging, and cardboard has been replaced by recycled cardboard.
Our offices are becoming greener and greener
Headquarters: At our headquarters in Alkmaar, we have drastically reduced paper usage. Our Marketing team has almost entirely eliminated printed brochures, offering them digitally instead. And if printing is necessary, it is done on recycled paper. Additionally, a heat pump has been installed, and 1,650 solar panels have been placed on the roof. As a result, the headquarters and the European distribution center are 100% off-the-grid!
Germany: To reduce the use of fossil fuels, we are gradually replacing our company cars with electric models. The first ones are already running on green electricity. Additionally, our offices in Troisdorf and Rheinbreitbach have received more efficient heating systems.
France: By making greater use of video calling with customers, our sales colleagues travel less, and our brochures and other marketing materials are sent digitally to reduce paper usage, just like in Alkmaar.
United States: In our offices in Fairfield and Ontario, new HVAC systems have been installed, reducing gas consumption by 9%. We have also switched to recycled paper. In Cranbury, gas consumption has been reduced by more than 50% since 2019. LED lighting has been installed, and paper and water usage has been reduced.
Canada: Our office in Mississauga (Toronto) reduced CO2 emissions by 50 tons in 2022 through more efficient thermostat settings and automatic LED lighting.
Benelux: Our colleagues in Breda are switching to hybrid company cars. The building has received a new insulated roof and LED lighting, reducing gas consumption by 30%.
Thailand: Solar panels have been installed here, generating sufficient energy for current needs. Our colleagues aim to further expand solar energy generation and seek to minimize the use of plastic packaging and implement water-saving initiatives.
More than 13,000 Trees Planted
Through various donations to ‘OneTreePlanted’ and ‘Ecodrive,’ Plymovent has planted 13,039 trees, supporting various reforestation projects.
And Now…
Our goal is to be a climate-neutral certified company by 2025. Together, we work step by step towards a sustainable future with solutions that benefit both our company and the planet.
Plymovent recently opened a new production facility in Thailand. Since sustainability is one of Plymovent's spearhead policies, it was decided to install solar panels on the roof. Solar energy uses the world's biggest source of free energy: the sun.
