It is important to keep workplace exposure below the legal limits, even in peak-times.

Solutions for exposure to welding fumes

Welding fumes and grinding dust are generated during metal and manufacturing processes. These fumes can collect above machinery to form a visible cloud of smoke resulting in a potentially harmful working environment.

To comply with the legal limits for air pollutants associated with welding and grinding work, there is a requirement for high quality fume extraction and filter systems.

With large workpieces common in this particular branch of industry, point or source extraction is difficult to operate and a cloud of welding fume can build up very quickly, this cloud consists of welding fumes, particulates and the residues of molten metals. Welders will often move between multiple workstations and/or workpieces. Personal protective equipment may indeed protect the welder, but not other workers in the production facility. the amounts of harmful and environmentally damaging vapours and fumes must be lowered to protect non welders.

Your advantages

  • A clean and healthy work environment
  • Less downtime and additional cleaning costs
  • A workplace exposure below the legal limits, even in peak-times

Solutions for exposure to oil mist

Many different working processes are taking place during metal and manufacturing processes. Processes such as milling, drilling, honing, casting, grinding, heat treatment and cold forming.

Various oil and emulsions are used to cool or lubricate the metal components during these processes. An aerosol forms if these fluids get airborne. Slippery floors and work surfaces are caused by this oil mist. It can also have negative health effects. In addition, these fine droplets can affect the electrical equipment in the facility.

Plymovent offers various solutions to remove the oil mist. It is preferable to attach the MistWizard to a single CNC-machine to give the operator a clear view of the production process. This eliminates the need for duct work and complicated electrical connections. Our FlexHood, connected to a MistWizard, is often installed above an open CNC-machine to catch the airborne particles.

For larger solutions we offer our MistEliminator, a modular filter bank that can be expanded as your business grows. This filter system removes the oil mist from the air, and depending on the metalworking fluids used, it can be re-used in the production process. The filtered air can be ventilated to the outside or recirculated into the factory, saving energy and reducing your heating costs.
